Prince Bira in his E.R.A. pursuing Hans Ruesch’s Alfa Romeo 8C35 up the hill to South Tower corner. Ruesch won his preliminary heat from Bira, but the “eight stone of dynamite from Siam” (as the program called him) won the final at an average speed of 57.5 mph.
