Description

Tazio Nuvolari being carried on the shoulders of the crowd after he won this important race with his Auto Union. This was Auto Union’s second victory in two years in Britain, all the more significant given the overall supremacy of Mercedes. Nuvolari won in spite of two pit stops which dropped him back both times. He was then 48 years old. Note the TN motif on his shirt. A lovely example of Klemantaski’s quick camera work in moments of great emotion.
